About kathrynell

kathrynell began when Kathryn and Nell were in high school and discovered their shared passion for fashion, craftiness, creativity and sewing.

Kathryn received her undergraduate degree from Roger Williams University and is a graphic designer who enjoys transferring her designing skills from the computer screen to her sewing machine. She has been sewing for years, refining her skills by helping and watching her mom.

Janel, known to friends and family as Nell, received a sewing machine from her Grandmother who patiently taught her to read a sewing pattern. Nell recently received her masters degree from Tufts Univeristy with an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and is a Registered Dietitian.

Born and raised in the same town outside of Boston, they met in elementary school and have continued their friendship beyond college. Still based in Massachusetts, the two have enjoyed creating new designs and expanding their collection. All bags are carefully made by hand by the designers themselves. The bags and purses they create are each inspired by and take the names of people close to the hearts of Kathryn and Nell.

Today, kathrynell represents the sassy, sexy, and stylish characteristics in every woman. These bags illustrate those characteristics with every handmade stitch. All are as original and unique as the women who carry them.
